Dayton to compete in 2018 Battle for Atlantis

As first reported by Jon Rothstein this morning, Dayton will compete in the 2018 Battle for Atlantis in the Bahamas. The full tournament field includes perennial college basketball powerhouses like Wisconsin, Virginia, Florida, Butler, Oklahoma, Stanford, and Middle Tennessee.

While the Flyers will definitely have their work cut out for them, huge opportunity lies in entering a tournament like this. If Dayton can manage to pull off two or miraculously three wins in the Bahamas, its March resume will receive a huge boost. That said, if the Flyers struggle, no damage will be done due to the level of competition they’re facing. All in all, the 2018 Battle for Atlantis will certainly be a holiday tournament every Dayton fan can get behind.
