Hey Everybody,

Or “Hello, Friends.” Or, “THIS IS MARCH!” Or, whatever your preferred season’s greeting for this most wonderful time of the year.

One more time – our 20th annual (except the year we skipped) to be precise – The Jerome is back. We’ve got the web site rolling (thejerome.org) and the Twitter accounts (more on these later) humming. We only need you to put pride and reputation on the line and choose the winners of 32 conference tournaments over the next couple of weeks.

Veterans, head straight to make your picks through this link. Rookies, get a quick Jerome primer by clicking here. Deadline for the first set of picks is Tuesday March 3, 6PM eastern; second set deadline is Monday March 9, 6PM eastern (entry form to be released at a later date).

Some quirks for 2020:

• In hopes of avoiding operator error by, well, me, we’ve listed every team in every league this year. That means you could pick a team that isn’t eligible or didn’t qualify. Don’t do that.
• Two timing changes – the Mountain West moved up into the first batch of tourneys, and the Metro Atlantic Athletic slides to the second set.
• The America East’s regular season won’t be complete until a few hours the pick for that league is due. It’s a glitch in the system, but if it bugs you, we’ll re-share last year’s prescient advice: keep calm and pick Vermont.
• The Sun Belt has stretched its tournament’s five rounds over nine days. We’re keeping it in the second batch, even though the bracket will be down to eight teams by then.

As in past years, we thrive on participation. The more, the merrier, even if you’re indicted or show-caused. Our Original 3 has multiplied to nearly 1300 friends of The Jerome in the mix last year. If you have pals who want in, share the links. A follow on Twitter (@TheJeromeXIX and @SendItInterns) and an eye on our hashtag (#TheJerome) are good resources, too.

As in past years, I am final judge and jury for any conflicts. I will try to be quick at the monitor.

This is a bunch of fun for a die hard hoops fan to compete in. I've made it my mission the last two years to spread the word and get people to sign up. Obviously it is more fun if you have a group doing it. I hope some of this board will join this year and keep us updated on how you are doing/did.

Last year I was around the 800th place finisher out of almost 1300 so there is a bunch of room for improvement haha.
