The A10 Tournament second round afternoon session. Fordham rallies. Saint Louis rolls.
Fordham 54 George Mason 49
Offensive efficiency: Fordham 84, George Mason 77
Second half foul trouble plagued George Mason allowing the Rams to come back from an 11 point second half deficit. The victory earned Fordham a quarterfinal meeting with Davidson on Friday. Both teams had a commendable 17% turnover rate. The shooting percentages were another story. The Rams’ eFG% was 37 while George Mason checked in at 40. Once again the Patriots attempted nearly half their shots from downtown. That was not the answer as they connected on just 22% from three. Chuba Ohams of Fordham led all with a 20 point, 16 rebound outing. Josh Oduro paced George Mason with 11 points and 10 boards.

Rebounding and balance of Saint Louis was too much in this second round meeting. Travis Ford’s Billikens owned the backboard by a 48-33 count while holding a 33-15 edge in offensive rebounding percentage. Saint Louis had four players in double figures with Gibson Jimerson leading the way with a game-high 19 points. Francis Okuro added 17 and a game-high 13 rebounds. The Explorers saw a four game win streak snapped and their season end. They were led by Jhamir Brickus and Khalil Brantley, both with 11 points.
