Game of the Night

George Washington Colonials vs. Fordham Rams – 7:00 ET

George Washington enters Atlantic 10 play at 11-2 and looks to get off to a hot start when they host Fordham Saturday night. While the Colonials have been the center of much of the A10 talk thus far, Fordham has quietly been putting together a solid start. The Rams are 9-2 on the season, and while untested, they have demonstrated a strong aptitude for the fundamentals. Currently, Fordham is ranked 19th in the nation in assists per game and 22nd in points allowed. This is a trend that will need to continue if they want the chance to beat GW.

For the Colonials, transfer forward Tyler Cavanaugh has been Mr. Consistent. So for this season, the junior has yet to score less than 10 points in a game. He leads a balanced offense that ranks 51st in the nation in offensive efficiency to Fordham’s 194th. The key for GW will be to pound the paint. The Rams do a fantastic job at defending the three-pointer (opponents are shooting 26.1% on the year) and rank 4th in the country in defensive turnover rates. If the Colonials can limit the dribbling and feed the post consistently, there’s no reason they shouldn’t win this one easily.

KenPom Prediction: George Washington 74, Fordham 65

La Salle Explorers vs. Massachusetts Minutemen – 5:00 ET

UMass enters as one-point favorites in what should be a very close game, and not in the best of ways. Both teams have been subpar and dwell near the basement of the A1o rankings, and neither has yet to loge a solid win. La Salle is led by one-man show Jordan Price who is averaging 22.8 PPG on the year. That accounts for 33% of the Explorers’ scoring. If UMass can shut down Price, they have a good shot at walking away with a road win.

KenPom Prediction: Massachusetts 78, La Salle 76
