The Massachusetts Minutewomen (2-10, 0-0 A-10) closed out non-conference play with a loss to the UAlbany Great Danes (10-2 0-0 America East) 74-52 on Wednesday afternoon. The all-time series history is now tied up 1-1 between the Minutewomen and the Great Danes.

UMass was dealing with scoring droughts and runs throughout the game. Foul trouble also impacted the gameplay for the Minutewomen with Bre Bellamy and Lilly Taulelei both fouling out during the fourth quarter, and Stefanie Kulesza and Alexsia Rose both getting in foul trouble midway through the second half.

Kristin Williams led UMass in scoring with 14 points on Wednesday afternoon. Taulelei and Rose both had 8 points, Kulesza had 6 points, Lilly Ferguson and Dallas Pierce had 5 points apiece, and Bellamy and Chinenye Odenigbo had 3 points each to round out the scoring.

Next up for UMass is the start of conference play on Saturday, December 30th against the Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Rams (11-1, 0-0 A-10) at 4:30pm. This will be the 16th all-time meeting between UMass and VCU with the Rams leading 9-6.
