Last night in the A10 (Friday Senior Night edition)

In the lone game on Friday night, it was Senior Night at Reilly Center and host St. Bonaventure did not disappoint the home crowd.

St. Bonaventure  72 Richmond 65

Possessions: 64

Offensive efficiency: St. Bonaventure 112, Richmond 102

Bonnies secured a double-bye in next week’s A10 Tournament avenging an earlier loss to Richmond. The game saw 15 ties and 14 lead changes. Turnovers, or lack of them, on the Bona side were crucial. The TO rate was an excellent 13% as Mark Schmidt’s group committed only eight. Jacob Gilyard of Richmond, the all time NCAA steals leader, had just one theft. Four Bonnies were in double figures with Jalen Adwaway leading the way with 21 points. Osun Osunniyi returned to the lineup,  playing with discomfort from the ankle injured last Saturday, gutted out a 16 point, 6 rebound 3 block effort. Osunniyi also eclipsed the school’s all-time block record.  Tyler Burton, had a career night scoring 36 points during Richmond’s win over the Bonnies a month ago. Burton, kept a little more in check this time,  led the way for Richmond tying Adaway for game scoring honors with  21 points.
