Sunday in the A10- Rose Hill Matinee

Ray FlorianiBy Ray FlorianiFebruary 20, 2022No Comments2 Mins Read

In the lone A10 contest on Sunday, Fordham made it two of their last three…

Fordham  50 George Mason 47

Possessions: 61- a deliberate, grind it out, ‘rock fight’  tempo.

Offensive efficiency: Fordham 82, George Mason 77

Fordham is close to the bottom in conference offensive efficiency at 91. George Mason is near the top with an OE average of 105. Credit Kyle Neptune’s Rams with a defensive job well done. The visiting Patriots were forced into a 26% turnover rate and shot an eFG percentage of just 42%. Fordham, once again minus the services of Darius Quisenberry, benefited from another Chuba Ohams double-double. The 6’9” senior scored a team-high 17 points while grabbing 12 boards. Xavier Johnson of George Mason led all scorers with 19. Josh Oduro of Mason pulled down 10 rebounds but was guilty of eight of the 16 Patriot turnovers. On the afternoon Fordham shot better from three (8 of 24 for 33%) than the charity stripe (2 of 9 for 22%). The game featured nine lead changes.

Rough going of late for Kim English and co. George Mason, entering February on a roll, has dropped five of seven during the month. Both wins were in overtime.

Records: Fordham (12-13) 5-8 A10

George Mason (13-12) 6-6
