Spiders and Wildcats Headline Bluegrass Classic
Richmond announced today that they will be in the “Bluegrass Classic” which will consist of 3 games in November. The Spiders will host Hartford (Nov. 13) & Detroit Mercy (Nov. 15) at the Robins Center. The Spiders have never played against Hartford, and are 0-1 against Detroit Mercy (1992). The headline event will be when Richmond heads to Rupp Arena to take on the Kentucky Wildcats. This will be the 1st ever meeting between the two schools and could be a huge resume builder for the Spiders.
Remaining Non Conference Slate
Up until today, we know that the Spiders now have 8 games scheduled outside of the Atlantic 10 season, with 4 that have dates scheduled:
11/13: vs Hartford
11/15 vs Detroit Mercy
11/23 @ Kentucky
12/5: @ Colorado State
Four of the games have net to have a date determined. Richmond will host Old Dominion and Northern Iowa, with a returning trip to the McLeod Center in Cedar Falls in 2021. The Spiders will hit the road to take on Vanderbilt & Charleston. The all-time record for Richmond against their non conference opponents comes out to 32-38 with 60 of those games coming against Old Dominion.
