Who makes up your all-Atlantic 10 3×3 team?

Grant: Because Jaylen Adams and E.C. Matthews have been injured for a good portion of the season, this is a difficult one to tackle. I’ll still take Jaylen Adams, as the senior’s come back with a bang. I’m also going to say Peyton Aldridge and B.J. Johnson would make quite the squad. LuWane Pipkins and Jared Terrell would come off he bench if I could have 2 more.

Grant: Though the Flyers haven’t really beaten anyone good, and they’ve had some questionable losses so far, I think things could certainly be worse in Dayton. This will probably be a season where UD finishes 6-8th in the A-10, and when the Flyers return a strong class of rising sophomores along with Williams and Cunningham, they could have an outside shot at the Big Dance next year — that might be a bit of a stretch though. All in all, I think you have to give Anthony Grant time, but I really like the way Dayton’s young guys have played.

Grant: It’s crazy, but I think I’m going to take La Salle’s B.J. Johnson. The senior’s the second leading scorer in the Atlantic 10 at 21.5 points per game and is 3rd in rebounding at 9.2 per contest. Not to mention he’s shooting 83.3% from the stripe. I’ve loved the production La Salle has been getting out of Johnson, and the Explorers haven’t been playing pushover teams either; expect him to give Peyton Aldridge, Jaylen Adams, and E.C. Matthews a run for their money when it comes to 2017-18 A-10 POY.
If Bona finishes 10-2 in the non conference with wins over Maryland & Cuse what do you think their A10 record has to be to get an at large? 14-4?

Grant: Yeah, that honestly sounds about right. As long as none of those 4 losses are against teams like Duquesne, Fordham, Richmond, Saint Louis, etc. The Bonnies are probably going to need to get a quality win in conference play as well. Rhode Island at home is going to be the best opportunity, but maybe a win over Davidson or VCU would carry some weight at the end of the year. For now, beating Syracuse is a big (and much-needed) if.

Grant: The first part of this question is obviously going to depend on a lot of factors. If I had to guess right now, Tyler Maye will be in the running based on valuable minutes provided in Maui. P.J. Byrd is a 2 star commit coming in that will share minutes. Obviously, it’s going to take some time for Mike Rhoades’ backcourt to adjust without Jonathan Williams. He might experiment with a lot of options next season.
Dan Hurley’s stay at URI obviously depends on his success and what opportunities arise. Honestly, I don’t see Hurley running away for any old school (Wade at LSU), but if the right opportunity came up (above-average Power 5), you couldn’t fault him for leaving. It’s hard to guess if/when something like this would happen. If you’re a Rhode Island fan, just be happy that he’s around right now because the Rams are good.
