VCU retains 4 star recruit Sean Mobley after departure of Will Wade

Grant LabedzBy Grant LabedzMarch 25, 2017No Comments1 Min Read

Mike Rhoades is off to a great start at VCU, retaining 4 star recruit Sean Mobley despite Will Wade’s departure for LSU. Often times, when a head coach who recruited a particular player leaves, the player may look for a different school. That’s not going to be the case for Mobley, per his Twitter page.

I’m not going anywhere!! RAM NATION OR NO NATION πŸπŸ€ It’s time to follow Coach Rhoades to the promise land! Let’s get to work!! @VCU_Hoops

β€” Sean Mobley (@Sean_hollis32) March 24, 2017

This is great news for a team that loses a lot of talent in Mo Alie-Cox, JeQuan Lewis, Jordan Burgess, and Doug Brooks. Mobley is a 6’9″ forward who has shooting range and can knock down jumpers with ease. He should be a great addition to VCU’s offense next season along with Lavar Batts and a number of other solid incoming freshmen. Mike Rhoades is keeping VCU intact, and he hasn’t even had the head coaching job for a week.
