Via ESPN’s Pete Thamel, Fordham Men’s Basketball has dismissed Head Coach Keith Urgo after three seasons. Before taking over as head coach in the spring of 2022, Urgo served as associate head coach under Kyle Neptune during the 2021-22 season.
Thamel announced the move at 11:00 EST on Thursday. Fordham Athletics confirmed the report via an official statement shortly after at 11:34. Following the move, Fordham announced that they will conduct a national search to fill the position.
In his first season at the helm, Urgo led the Rams to a 25-8 overall finish, their highest win total since the 1990-91 campaign and just one win short of their best season in program history. Fordham struggled over the next two seasons under Urgo, finishing ‘23-’24 13-20 and ‘24-’25 12-21. Urgo ends his tenure at Fordham with a 50-49 overall record, 21-33 in Atlantic 10 play.
This is a developing story.
