In a season that has seen its share of ups and downs, the Billikens have been anything but boring. SLU closed out their regular season by outlasting Duquesne in an overtime thriller, 90-88.
On Senior Night, SLU’s Gibson Jimerson celebrated in style, scoring a career-high 35 points by making a career-high 14 field goals (14-of-20). Jimerson was 4-of-8 from 3-point range and tied for a game-high eight rebounds.
Fellow senior Isaiah Swope had 17 points, including two critical threes in the final minute of the game to send it to overtime. Robbie Avila had 22 points while going 4-7 from three-point range. Avila also had 7 rebounds.
SLU improved to 18-13 overall and 11-7 in the Atlantic 10 Conference with its fourth win in five games. Saint Louis is the No. 5 seed for the A-10 Championship, which begins Wednesday, March 12, at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. The Billikens have a first-round bye and will face the winner of the first-round game between No. 12 Davidson and No. 13 Richmond.
