The Davidson Wildcats (13-11, 8-4 Atlantic 10) defeated the Massachusetts Minutewomen (13-11, 8-5 Atlantic 10) 56-38 on Saturday afternoon.
The Wildcats dominated the game early, leading to them getting a big lead early. The Minutewomen had scoring issues early and had slip-ups on offense. Davidson was without Issy Morgan who has been recovering from an ankle injury and Head Coach Gayle Fulks who did not travel with the team. Associate Head Coach James Janssen filled the head coach position for the game, and the Wildcats looked unstoppable. When the third quarter came around, Davidson struggled to have shots fall and went without a field goal for seven minutes of the quarter which let UMass cut into their lead, only to have the Wildcats go on a run that would seal the game in the fourth quarter.
Davidson had two players in double-figure scoring on Saturday afternoon. Charlise Dunn had 15 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists, and Katie Donovan had 15 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists for scorers in double-digit scoring.
