2018 forward Kevin Easley Jr. decommits from VCU

VCU lost 4 star, 2017 recruits Lavar Batts Jr. and Mayan Kiir this past week; the news didn’t get much better on Wednesday night. 2018 small forward Kevin Easley Jr. has backed out of his commitment with the Rams and has re-opened his options. Other than Sean Mobley and Marcus Santos-Silva who have decided to stay committed to VCU, the Rams have no commitments afterwards. Easley Jr. is a 6-6, 210 lb. small forward from Indianapolis. He’s a 4 star recruit according to ESPN and was VCU’s only committed prospect from the class of 2018.

The Rams are pretty much back to square 1 when it comes to recruiting. Obviously, it’s time for Mike Rhoades to roll up his sleeves and get to work. The Rams have 4 open spots to fill for the 2017-18 season. They have 2 open offers for the class of 2017, and there’s always the possibility of landing a graduate transfer. 7 foot JUCO transfer Usman Haruna is a possible get that’d help VCU’s frontcourt immensely. At the end of the day, it’s only April, and Rhoades should be able to find some valuable replacements before the start of next season.
