Duquesne’s Isiaha Mike and Mike Lewis II to transfer out of the program

If Duquesne didn’t have enough issues finding a head coach, it now has to deal with two stud freshmen leaving the program. Mike Lewis II and Isiaha Mike both announced this past week that they’d be transferring from the program. Lewis II led the team in scoring last season with 14.1 points per game. Mike averaged 11.3 points and 5.8 rebounds per contest. Both were on the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie team this past season and will be missed.

Duquesne freshman Mike Lewis has asked for his release to transfer, per his twitter page. Averaged 14.1 PPG. Should have high-major suitors.

Incoming recruits Jamari Wheeler and John Walker have also requested they be released from their letters of intent with Duquesne. Sophomore Nakye Sanders has also requested to transfer. These developments were per Corey Evans of Rivals. Duquesne is running out of scholarship players, and at this point, it only has 1 commitment coming in next year. Whoever Duquesne is able to hire is going to have to make some serious moves before the start of next season. Duquesne has lost just about all of its scoring talent to graduation or transfers, and it does not look like the Dukes are going to be able to do anything next year. This coaching position just starts to look less and less appealing, so this team needs to hire someone quick before everyone else jumps ship. According to Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports, Duquesne is now looking into Keith Dambrot of Akron as its next potential head coach. I wish this program luck, because this is an absolute train wreck.
