Per Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports, La Salle’s B.J. Johnson will enter the 2017 NBA draft, though he will not hire an agent. Should he choose to do so, Johnson is still eligible to return to La Salle for his senior year because he did not hire an agent. The new rule instated last season allows non-seniors to test the waters and declare while still giving them the option to return to school. This seems like the likely case for B.J. Johnson.

Johnson averaged 17.6 points and 6.3 rebounds for the Explorers, leading the team in both categories. Without Jordan Price around, Johnson could be the go-to-guy who’ll try to carry this team back to relevancy. La Salle went 15-15 this season after a 9-9 finish in the A-10 Conference that gave the Explorers 8th place. My guess is that Johnson will be returning to La Salle for his senior season. If somehow he doesn’t, it’ll be a big blow to the Explorers’ 2017-18 team.
