Most annoying A10 fans?

Just curious to find out from some of you guys who have been in the A10 for a while.... what's the most annoying road game to attend?

As a VCU fan, we obviously couldn't stand ODU fans because of our rivalry, but I'd say George Mason was even worse. Something about that student body that seemed to be comprised of a higher percentage of idiots. That said, I'm sure people didn't have fun visiting our place either.

As far as A10 teams, I've only traveled to our games against crosstown rival Richmond, and they weren't too bad. So I ask you guys, which opposing arena do you hate going to?

It's possible that Xavier isn't loved at UD Arena.

People will usually say the trip to Bona is "annoying" because of its rural location, but if you've actually made the trip, you'd know it isn't bad at all. It's actually a pretty centralized location for many A-10 schools.

As far as my choice, it's hard to say. Many would say UD fans are most annoying, but their game day experience is really good. I'll go with St. Joe's since the Bonnies haven't had success on Hawk Hill since the scandal.

I've been spit on at GW by students (back when students would fill the place). I just turned 30, so I'm not "old," but I can't stand going to VCU games if I have to sit by the band/students. An entire student section saying "You suck balls," while "gesturing." I'm always astounded at the number of official band members that hurl F-bombs at opposing fans (including pregnant women...). The general fans there aren't too bad, but the students are ignorant when it comes to basketball and would prefer to attack pregnant women standing 10 rows behind them than watch the game. It was worse with the bandwagon fans after the FF.

I will admit that being an opposing fan at a VCU game probably isn't the most pleasant experience. Being put by the band/student section can't be fun if you aren't there to watch VCU.

VCU. Probably because I've ready one too may of their furry threads.

GW's fanbase is quite a dichotomy. They have a lot of good, intelligent, high-class fans. They also have their frat boys. I remember the frat boys shouting in unison "Richmond sucks!" during the grand pause of the national anthem--a depth even VCU fans have not plumbed.

How can XU fans be annoying. :).

Yeah we like to yell things like "Flagship" and "It's our conference" and things like that. But how can you get annoyed by fans who travel and wear snuggies.

You won't get many Butler students hurling insults or anything. At a game a couple years ago someone got angry and threw a water bottle on the floor after the game and the entire campus got an email from Brad Stevens letting them know that the behavior is unacceptable. His rule is not to do anything that would make it so that he wouldn't bring his little kids to the game. I'm sure there are exceptions -- there always are -- but the rude comments generally aren't the Butler way of doing things.

Oh, god. I just talked about the Butler way. I'm going to go puke now.

We were actually successful last towards the end of last year getting rid of the (embarrassing by even my standards) You Suck Balls/fondling chant. Most people don't like it when you point out they are pantomiming the tickling of testicles on national tv.

Ron5 will probably be retired now that Ronald Nored was graduated. He might make an appearance, though.

You do understand that a committee may form here to determine how many times you guys are allowed to write "The Butler Way" on A10 related message boards, right?

I don't believe Butler has the Choir Boy Award locked up just yet. Then again, I'm not sure which program's fans would be nominated for that.

Well. All I know is Xavier wont be the flagship for very long. Thanks for your service and showing us the Butler Way, but we have a flightplan. :D

I would really love to say Richmond (UNYNJ-R).... but seriously.... how annoying can an 85 year old be- even wearing the red sweater-vest that smells up your entire section, with this old, moth-ball type vibe.

Hold the bus! You typed "red sweater-vest." RED SWEATER VEST has long been the brand property of the UD faithful, many of whom also are about 85 years old.

I would never compare the UR fan base to the UD fan base. The Richmond crowd seems like they're much more refined.

I enjoy your cockiness. Having VCU and Butler on board will certainly make for a better, more entertaining A10. This coming season will be a free for all, but unseating the Flagship beyond this season will be a tall order.

As for showing you the Butler Way, that's for Butler fans to do.

I tried to explain to the VCU fans on what I will now refer to as "the other" A-10 board that we aren't the only or most infamous red sweaters vests in the A-10.

I am also trying to promote having our 85 yr olds switch to red wife-beaters, both in order to be more feisty and for pure shock value. (VCU just picture the UR fan base in red wife-beaters in your head and my job is done)

That was well played. I had to look it up, but at least I get it now. And yes, that would qualify as pure shock value.

    Ok 2 things...

1 - The best thing for the A10 in the long run is honestly for there to not be a flagship but 3-5 teams in the argument as "flagship"

2 - I would think of all the A10 schools Xavier fans and VCU fans would be more acquainted with "The Butler Way" more than others so I wouldn't think xudash would have to tell you about it. (and yes there are many many many BU fans that are just sickening with "The Butler Way" propaganda, don't expect it as much from me
